I’ve got to say I am nothing short of BAFFLED that this was a 4 star review on multiple BookTok/Instagram accounts. I tend to avoid reading reviews of books before reading them because I can’t stop myself from reading the spoilers but had I read them, I probably could have saved myself.

This book is based around a tv show, Goal Diggers and all the characters are either people in production or on the show. I cannot for the life of me imagine a world where people would want to watch this cast of characters on a tv show. The characters have one defining characteristic each but other than that just blend together as unlikeable brats.

The plot was incredibly slow. It had unreliable narrators alongside a plot that needs you to suspend belief on a level that would require a lobotomy to do so. I was going in to this review with the plan to give it 2 stars but typing this up makes me really question if it should be even lower.

I’ll give it 2 stars but begrudgingly.

PS. This also shouldn’t be labeled a thriller.
