I am going to lead with the fact that this book benefits significantly from the fact that I have an incredibly difficult time rating a book less than 3 stars. I came very close to giving up on the book pretty early but I have only actually quit on maybe 3 books in my life.
The book starts very slow with the first (I’m guessing without going back to check) ten chapters being just dense, boring, nothingness. It felt like these was no real clear plot development until more than a third of the way through. The large number of characters were all so underdeveloped and dull that it took me forever to even remember who was who.
Overall, the plot(s) were slow, the characters were boring, and the combination of the 3 main plot lines was clunky. These things prevented me from getting lost in the story and therefore making the far fetched pieces of the story really apparent. The twists were lackluster and overall, I am just really disappointed.
3 stars and that feels like a very kind rating.
