The Perfect Hosts starts with Madeline and Wes Drake inviting two hundred of their closest “friends” and family to their gender reveal party. This party is themed “pistols and pearls” and involves the firing of a gun that sets off an additional explosion. ATF special agent Jamie Saldano is called in to investigate. He has a connection to this town and parties involved. The plot follows the investigation from multiple POVs.

There are many different layers to this plot and I loved every part of it. I also immediately Googled if there was a sequel. This was a 5 star winner.
