This one fell really flat for me. There were two story lines here: one is based on break-ins in the neighborhood and one based on the murder. The break-in story line was interesting when first introduced. Why would this teenager be breaking into houses? But that story line just refused to develop in an interesting way.
The murder story line was interesting until the developments became repetitive. Murder in a suburban neighborhood everyone must be sleeping with everyone!
The characters were not different or interesting enough. The pacing was good. The ending was… fine. Not Shari Lapena’s best book but far from a DNF.
A 3 star book through and through.
