I have seen recommendations of Riley Sager on Twitter, Reddit, and then random book lists forever and yet never even felt compelled to read the book jacket to see what a single one was about until this one. But did I miss the memo that Riley Sager does paranormal things in his thrillers? Or is this a one off thing for him?
Overall, I was pretty unimpressed with this book and I hope this is not a good example of Riley Sager’s work. The writing felt very flat. I am almost impressed that he managed to make me not care about a single character throughout.
The twists were there just to say there were twists. This was simply a book with a poorly executed plot, poorly written characters, and random, unnecessary redundancy. It gets 3 stars but barely.
