Anatomy of an Alibi

Anatomy of an Alibi

I might have gone into this one with my expectations too high. I love Ashley Elston and I fear that may have played a role in my disappointment in the ending.

This book starts out with an interesting premise of Aubrey Price acting as Camille Bayliss for 12 hours so Camille can spy on her husband, Ben, without him knowing. Ben was a man known to track her location and this provides the perfect cover until he is found dead the following morning. The airtight alibi they both need can only belong to one of them.

Sadly, as this book got closer to the end, I was more annoyed by the large cast of characters I was having to remember. I think the number of characters also made me care less and less about each one as the book progressed. There was truly no character I was rooting for in the end.

The ending of this book also wrapped up a little too nicely considering the power dynamics and number of supposedly influential characters involved.

I’m sad to say this was my least favorite of all Ashley Elston’s books. It was a 3 star read with no real complaints and no praise.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
